Two Orange residents are each being held on over $ 500 thousand bond after reportedly shooting at city police officers conducting a search warrant.
34-year-old David Glen Mays and 28-year-old Tiffany Thompkins were arrested around 8:50 Tuesday night after police say they shot at Orange and Pinehurst officers.
No officers were injured.
Inside the house, officers seized crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, pills, drug paraphernalia, stolen property and two semi-automatic pistols.
Both Mays and Thompkins are charged with attempted capital murder, possession of controlled substance and other offenses.
A man and a woman were arrested after firing a gun at police officers trying to serve a search warrant.
It happened around 8:48 Tuesday night at a home located at 2309 Riverside Drive.
When police officers knocked on the door, some one inside the house fire a gun shot, but the bullet lodged in the door frame and nobody was hit.
Police say officers had to force their way into the house because it was heavily fortified with iron security bars on the doors and windows
Once inside, police arrested 34-year-old David Glen Mays and 28-year-old Tiffany Thompkins were taken into custody.
Officers searched the home and discovered crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, pills, stolen property, and two semi-automatic pistols.
Police determined one of the pistols was the one fired at the officers.
Officers also seized a digital scale, baggies, and assorted paraphernalia used for the distribution of drugs.
Mays and Thompkins were charged with a variety of offenses, including attempted capital murder and possession of a controlled substance.
