    Bum Phillips Bowl trophy unveiled

    Last October as the Nederland was holding off a furious rally by PNG, news started to spread in the stands. Legendary Oilers head coach Bum Phillips had passed away at age 90. The news was hard on both sides of the field that night, considering Bum coached both the Bulldogs and Indians along the way. His memory will live on in the form of the Bum Phillips Bowl trophy, featuring Bum's iconic cowboy hat. The yearly winner of Mid-County Madness will have their school name engraved on the trophy...

    PNG junior golfer Braden Bailey is set to compete at the state 4a boys golf tournament coming up Monday and Tuesday April 28-29 at the University of Texas course in Austin. Bailey, who finished second at regionals, has qualified for state three years in a row. The last two years he was able to go with his teammates, but this year the Indians finsihed fourth at regionals and only the top three make it.
