    QB Kendrick King of the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns scored with 21 seconds left to knock off the Lumberton Raiders 44-41 at Provost Umphrey Stadium at Lamar. The touchdown erased a 41-30 lead for the Raiders as the Longhorns scored twice in the final two and half minutes of the game to pull out the win. The loss extends Lumberton's losing streak to 22 games in a row.

    After back to back winless seasons, the Lumberton Raiders will try to end a 21 game losing streak when the face the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns Thursday night at 7:30 PM at Provost Umphrey Stadium at Lamar. Among the top qualifiers are 10 relay teams that finished first or second at the regional meet hosted by the Beaumont group at Zaharias Stadium. Julian Perez of West Brook is on the team and recently finished 3rd in the 1500 M and 6th in the 3000 M runs at the Jr Olympics in Humble, TX

    It was another strong showing for the Golden Triangle Track Club at the JR Olympics held in Humble, TX this past week.The team received medals in the following events youth boys 4x100 relay, youth boys 4x400 relay; and youth boys' 4x800 meter relay.GT Track Club had competitors in the 400 meter dash; 800 meter run and 1500 meter run. Two of the runners received medals in the 800 meter run and one received a medal in the 1500 meter run.

    WOS quarterback Dillon Sterling-Cole has transferred to Spring Westfield HS in the Houston area. Cole lead the Mustangs to the state quarterfinals last season before a loss to Carthage. He threw a school record five TD passes in a game against Columbia and finished with over 2300 yards passing and 26 TD's for the season.

    In only it's second year of existence in the Beaumont area, the First Colony Swim Team has been recognized as one of the top 100 swim programs in the country. First Colony is a satellite team from the main organization that is located in Sugar Land, TX. Coach Jarrod Murphy moved to the area two years ago and was able to convince BISD officials to let him use their pool to help further develop swimmers in SETX.
