A hearing on the order will take place in 136th District Court before Judge Baylor Wortham on September 29th at 3 p.m.
Cypress Glenn has faced criticism along with its sister facility Lake Arthur Place Nursing and Rehabilitation center also facing criticism for their handling of evacuating elderly residents when the facility was flooded during Harvey.
In a Sept. 7 statement the nursing home's parent company contends that they "worked with authorities to ensure a timely, safe and organized evacuation of our residents amidst the chaos of Hurricane Harvey".
The statement also stated that its residents "were forcibly evacuated by unknown volunteers."
Port Arthur Police officers executed an evidentiary search warrant at Lake Arthur Place late Thursday afternoon, Sept. 14, as part of an investigation into events surrounding the evacuation of that nursing home.
Port Arthur Police Detective Michael Hebert said at this time there are no future plans for a search warrant at Cypress Glen but he would not rule it out.
