A 90-year-old Silsbee man was killed in a single-car wreck in Jasper County Thursday afternoon.
Robert Herbst was pronounced dead at the scene by Jasper County Precinct Three Justice of the Peace Mike Smith according to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Troopers responded to the wreck on U.S. 96 about three miles north opf Buna at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday the release said.
A preliminary investigation showed that the left-rear tire of the 200 Lincoln Town Car that Herbst was driving blew out.
Herbst then lost control of the car before it left the roadway and rolled the release said.
No other information was released.
