Port Arthur Police investigating after wreck kills husband and wife

The driver of the Honda, Urfan Khan Khail, 30, died at the scene on Monday. His wife, 27-year-old Kalsoom Khail, was the passenger of the Honda and died Wednesday.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Port Arthur Police are investigating a wreck that killed two people.

On Monday, December 5, 2022 at around 5:57pm, officers responded to the 1800 block of S. MLK Drive in reference to a major motor vehicle accident, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.  

Preliminary investigation reveals that the driver of a 2021 Honda Accord failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a 2015 Ford F150.

The driver of the Honda, Urfan Khan Khail, 30, died at the scene.

Khalil's wife, 27-year-old Kalsoom Khail, was the passenger of the Honda.

She died as a result from her injuries on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.  

This case is currently under investigation by the Port Arthur Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.

On December 5, 2022 at approximately 5:57pm officers responded to the 1800 block of S. MLK Drive in reference to a major motor vehicle accident. Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a 2021 Honda Accord failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and was struck by a 2015 Ford F150. The driver of the Honda, Urfan Khan Khail, a 30-year- old male died on scene and his wife, 27-year-old Kalsoom Khail, died from her injuries today, 12/07/2022. This case is currently under investigation by the Port Arthur Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
