The driver of a truck-tractor and her 3-month-old infant were seriously injured after being ejected from the cab of a truck-tractor when it flipped Wednesday afternoon in Tyler County.

From the Texas Department of Public Safety...

At approximately 1:20p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a one vehicle rollover crash on US 69 in Tyler County.

The crash occurred in the Hillister Community.

Initial reports indicate that a Freightliner truck tractor was traveling northbound on US 69.

Due to the inclement weather, the driver hydroplaned and lost control.

The vehicle rolled over several times before coming to rest.

The driver, a 54-year-old female from Gatesville, Texas, and her 3-month-old child were both transportation by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.

Preliminary reports indicate that the driver and passenger were both ejected from the vehicle. However, the child was restrained in a car seat when the entire seat was ejected from the vehicle.

This is an ongoing crash investigation as Troopers work to determine if the child safety seat was secured to the vehicle at the time of the crash.
