Two Southeast Texas drivers who were killed early Sunday morning in a head-on collision on a Beaumont Freeway have been identified.

Beaumont Police received a call at about 6 a.m. Sunday reporting that a white Chevy Tahoe was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Eastex Freeway according to a release from the Beaumont Police Department.

Shortly after the call was received the Tahoe, driven by Meexee Castelan,33, of Beaumont, struck a northbound Honda, driven by Jacob Craft, 24, of Silsbee, and both vehicles caught on fire police said.

Both Castelan and Craft were pronounced dead on the scene of the wreck according to police.

Officers with the Beaumont Police Department's traffic unit are investigating the wreck.
