Going into Saturday Port Arthur Memorial and Silsbee had a chance to do something that hasn't been sone since 2007; have two teams from Southeast Texas win a State Basketball Championship in the same weekend. Hardin-Jefferson and Kountze were the last to accomplish that feat.

The Port Arthur Memorial Titans continued their Cinderella story season by beating the Northwest High School Texans 75-69, and bringing Memorial it's first State Basketball Championship in school history. This is also the fist State Championship that the city of Port Arthur has seen since Port Arthur Lincoln won in 1995, when future NBA star, Stephen Jackson was in his junior season.

For Silsbee, this feels like nothing new but tastes just as sweet. They repeat as 4A State Champions, beating #4 Dallas Carter 104-101 in a thriller. Silsbee has been in the state final three years in a row and will look to go back to the state finals for a forth year in a row as many of their starters will be returning. However, for right now you have to imagine that both teams are just enjoying the moment.

Congratulations to the Port Arthur Memorial Titans and Silsbee Tigers on winning their State Basketball Championships! You have made Southeast Texas proud.
