Rumors have been swirling for weeks now that Texas Longhorns Head Coach Charlie Strong may be on his way out of Austin.

After a gut-wrenching overtime loss to the Kansas Jayhawks last night, that rumor appears to be true.

Sources say that the UT administration has decided to fire Strong, but the official announcement may not come until tomorrow.

Yesterday in Lawrence, Kansas, the Jayhawks downed the Longhorns in overtime thanks to a 25-yard field goal by Matthew Wyman.

Wyman's game-winner gave Kansas their first win over Texas since 1938, and their first Big 12 win since 2014.

But it also delivered the final blow to Strong's short three-year tenure with the Longhorns.

He is currently 16-20 overall in his tenure, and has only achieved one bowl berth.

Now with the longhorns currently sitting at (5-6) on the season, they will look to move forward without the two-time Big East coach of the year.

They can become bowl eligible in next week's finale at home against TCU.
