For those people who want to see the College Football Playoffs expanded to eight teams, 12Sports Dave Hofferth has a suggestion for the committee.
He advocates just using the conference championship games as the quarterfinals and all the committee would have to do is decide who the top four conference champs are among the power five leagues.
If there is an upset in the conference championship game, then other teams would move up.
Four teams are enough. The season is long enough. Adding another round would mean two teams would play 16 games in a season. And what about the fans, who would have to pay to travel to three playoff games, if their team advances to the championship game.
None power five conference teams could be considered, if they are undefeated and have some quality non-conference wins.
The regular season of college football means more, every game counts.
