Louisiana State police say a 33-year-old Sulphur man faces vehicular homicide charges in connection with an April 2 crash in Allen Parish that killed three people, including a 3-year-old boy.

Freddy Lynn Bohler was arrested Monday in connection to a two-car accident on U.S. Highway 165 near Kinder.

Troopers say, earlier this month Bohler's vehicle drove into the back of a truck driven by Gregory Sprinkle, of Leesville, forcing the truck off the road, where it rolled over and hit a tree.

Sprinkle, his wife Betty and the couples 3-year-old Daylan died from the crash.

Another passenger in the truck received moderate injuries.

Bohler was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center without bond on vehicular homicide, first-offense drunken driving, reckless operation, obstruction of justice, negligent injuring, filing a false public record, criminal mischief and interfering with a state trooper.

He will be transferred to the Allen Parish Jail, where his case will be handled.

The crash occurred when a northbound 1999 Toyota Avalon was driven at a high rate of speed into the back of a 1996 Dodge Ram pick-up driven by 45-year-old Gregory Sprinkle of Leesville. The impact caused the vehicle Sprinkle was driving to travel off of the roadway, rollover, and strike a tree. Another passenger in the vehicle was transported from the scene with moderate injuries.
