Three men have been arrested and officers are looking for a fourth following a short chase Thursday afternoon.

Beaumont Police Spokesperson Rob Flores tells 12News that just after 12 p.m. an officer was patrolling in the 7000 block of Scotts Drive when a homeowner flagged him down. Scotts Drive is off of Old Voth Road in north Beaumont. The homeowner said he saw four men in a gray Dodge truck that appeared to be prowling houses in the neighborhood.

Officers quickly found the truck near the intersection of Eastex Freeway and Chinn Drive. They attempted to get the driver to pull over. The driver sped off and a chase began which ended at the dead end of Roland Road. Four men jumped out of the truck and ran.

Two of the men were arrested within minutes. The other two men ran into the wooded area. Officers set up a perimeter and a K-9 unit arrived to track the fleeing suspects. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department assisted in the search using their helicopter.

One of the other men was found and arrested after about 20 minutes of searching.

The fourth man remains at large.

Inside the truck, officers found several electronic items that we believe might have been stolen in a burglary. Officers also found crack cocaine.

Officer Flores said the suspects will be charged with evading custody. Once it is determined which man was driving, he will be charged with felony evading arrest.
