Beaumont fire investigators have not yet announced the cause of a Wednesday-morning house fire in the west end of the city.

The fire happened just before 4 a.m. at a home located at 9475 Shepherd St. according to a news release issued by Beaumont Fire Rescue.

When firefighters arrived they found flames coming from one window. They were able to quickly control the fire.

There was fire damage to one room and the attic space above it with smoke damage throughout the house.

No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

Just after noon Wednesday Captain Brad Penisson with Beaumont Fire Rescue told 12News investigators had not yet determined the cause of the fire.
