A Columbus man found in Beaumont with 158 fraudulent credit cards today was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison.

Federal prosecutors say Mohamed Laye Dioubate was pulled over for a traffic violation back in 2012. Police found the credit cards, a laptop computer and a credit card encoder in his car. Those credit cards were used in multiple fraudulent purchases throughout the country. Dioubate was found guilty in December of possessing 15 or more unauthorized access devices. He was also found to be in possession of multiple fraudulent credit cards in Missouri and Indiana.

He was sentenced by Judge Marcia Crone. The case was investigated by the Beaumont Police Department, U.S. Secret Service, St. Charles County, Missouri, Sheriff's Office, and the Henry County, Indiana, Sheriff's Office. This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher T. Tortorice and Brit Featherston.
