Vidor police are working to identify human remains found in a wooded area near FM 105 Saturday.

Just before noon, officers were called out to investigate human remains. Officials believe a man with a beard passed away at the site. The woods are near a carwash on Alamo St. No word on how long the body could have been in the wooded area. A cause of death has not yet been determined. Orange County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Judge Hershel Stagner Jr. has ordered an autopsy.

Investigators believe the man was wearing a "Corona" shirt, shorts and blue and black athletic shoes. Anyone with information about a missing person who fits this description should contact the Vidor Police Department Detective Division. The lead detective in the case is Detective James Blankenship.
