Two people have been killed in a wreck involving an 18-wheeler and a passenger car on Highway 73 a few miles west of Highway 124.

The Texas Department of Public Safety was notified of the wreck on Highway 73 at County Line Road about one or two miles west of Highway 124 at about 1 p.m. according to a release from the DPS.

A Lincoln Towne Car was headed south on County Line Road when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign and drove onto Highway 73 where it was struck by a westbound 18-wheeler according to the release.

The wreck forced the closure of the eastbound lanes of Highway 73 the release said.
