Three people were sent to the hospital on Friday night after a major wreck in Jefferson County.

JEFFERSON COUNTY — Three people were sent to the hospital on Friday night after a major wreck in Jefferson County.

A spokesperson with DPS said it happened at the intersection of Highway 90 and State Highway 326.

DPS reports a Cadillac passenger vehicle was traveling south bound on SH 326 when it drove through a red light and was struck by a Chevrolet SUV driving east bound on Highway 90.

The Cadillac driver and his two passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The person driving the Chevrolet and his three passengers were not injured.

The Cadillac driver was given a ticket for driving through a red light.

On April 13, 2018, at approximately 9:30p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a multiple vehicle crash at the intersection of US 90 and SH 326 in Jefferson County.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2003 Cadillac passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on SH 326. A 2004 Chevrolet SUV was traveling eastbound on US 90. The driver of the Cadillac disregarded a red light and was struck by the Chevrolet.

The driver of the Cadillac, 22-year-old Levi Williams of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and his two passengers were all transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 50-year-old George Schuldt of Beaumont, and his three passengers were not injured in the crash.

Williams was issued a traffic citation for disregarding a red light traffic signal.

At this time, there are no additional details to be released.
