A Southeast Texas woman celebrated living two years past a century Wednesday morning at an Orange nursing home.

Orange resident Vera Eads, who turned 102 Wednesday, celebrated while surrounded by family and friends at the Orange Villa Nursing Home.

Eads moved to Orange from Missouri in 1955.

Eads says she feels great for her age but needs a nap every now and then.

Woodrow Wilson was the president when she was born in 1915.

World War I was also going on at the time and transcontinental phone service began for the first time between New York and San Francisco.
