No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a travel trailer and killed a dog Friday morning in Vidor.

Firefighters from Orange County ESD 1 responded to the fire which damaged another nearby structure shortly after 10 a.m. in the 700 block of West Railroad Avenue near North Dewitt Road.

When firefighters arrived on the scene the trailer was fully engulfed in flames that were threatening a nearby mobile home.

The cause of the fire was heating related and was ignited while the female resident was burning clothing and paper in a large pot in the trailer for warmth according to firefighters on the scene.

The resident was spraying the flames with a garden hose when firefighters arrived in a futile attempt to control the blaze.
