The longtime management company that has overseen Ford Park for more then a dozen years has been replaced by Jefferson County Commissioners.
County commissioners announced Monday that Spectra would be taking over management of the $75 million entertainment complex according to Jefferson County purchasing agent Debroah Syphrett-Calrk
SMG has managed Ford Park since it opened in 2003.
The commissioners made their decision in a 3-2 vote Monday, with County Judge Jeff Branick and Precinct Two Commissioner Brent Weaver both voting to keep SMG.
The county's contract with SMG expires in March of 2017.
According to Spectra's website it is one of three Comcast Spectator businesses including the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers and Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Spectra helps more than 300 clients at more than 400 global properties hosting millions of fans and visitors yearly according to the site.
Spectra released this statement to 12News saying: "Spectra by Comcast Spectacor is very excited with today's announcement. We look forward to working with the City of Beaumont in creating new opportunities for the region to gather and enjoy live entertainment at Ford Park. We've had tremendous success at similar sized venues across the U.S."
