Gary Lee Love from Nash 101.7 loves what he does during his "Happy Hour Show with Gary Lee and Chase."
The 64-year-old has covered the Country Music Awards 23 times in his career.
Even though he was not there to interview the stars on the red carpet this year, his memories make up for it. "I've had so many! Willie Nelson I've interviewed him a couple of times." Love said.
From interviewing big artists like Little Big Town and Jason Aldean, his favorite moment goes back to 1993 when he won a CMA for air personality of the year.
"All I remember was Kathy Mattea presented me with the award. 1993 was a big year!" he said.
Love tells 12News his love for radio started when he was just 10 years old. He began playing with his mother's record player in Adairsville, Georgia.
At 15 years old, Love got his first radio gig while still in high school. In 1981, he moved to Texas and called it home.
Last month, Love was inducted to the Texas Radio Hall of Fame for his fifty years in radio. "This is something that blind sided me. They called and said, you're nominated! I was like wow! Great!"
Love says he wants to return to the red carpet in Nashville for the CMA's hopefully next year.
Gary Lee Love and Chase Landon host the NASH FM Happy Hour weekdays from 3-7.
