Faithful funding rebuild of Harvey-damaged church

Pastor Tony Wilcoxson says that the church is still waiting on federal funds to rebuild. However, the church has relied on donations from other congregations around the U.S.

ROSE CITY — A Harvey-damaged church in Rose City is relying on their faith to serve the community while waiting on funds from FEMA.

A special exception was made for religious and nonprofits during the storm which made them eligible for the same funding as secular groups.

Pastor Tony Wilcoxson says that they are still waiting on federal funds to help with repairs. However, the church has relied on donations from other congregations around the U.S. to keep their doors open.

"Scripture does come into play when the Lord says that He will never leave us nor forsake us and through a tragedy like this, he has proven it over and over again," said Wilcoxson.

You can support the church and others in the Rose City community by going to their GoFundMe page.
