Jefferson County deputies are investigating several car burglaries in two Hamshire area neighborhoods.

Surveillance videos captured the moment when the suspects broke into cars on Thursday morning.

“All the wires were hanging out, the console was open, everything was laying out!” said Lindy Pitre.

Residents James and Lindy Pitre, told 12News they found the inside of their black truck in bad shape on Thursday and they were not the only ones.

Deputies say the auto break-ins happened on Hamshire RD and San Jacinto St.

“I went to check the truck because a glove on the ground looked kind of suspicious and sure enough the truck door was cracked a little bit.” said Lindy.

The Pitres have been living in Hamshire for over 30 years but usually keep their cars locked.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, no windows or doors were broken during the crime and say one suspect was dropped off to burglarize the vehicles while the other suspect in the getaway vehicle waited at the other end.
