"Stay in school, stay in school man, stay out of trouble," Charles Solomon told some teens today as he gave out free hot dogs on Independence Day in South Beaumont.
Solomon has lived in Beaumont for 12 years and says the recent shootings and violence occurring pushed him to want to spread a message of support to the community.
“If we can come together and try to do something different to inspire others because it's such a sad thing to see young people destroy their lives," Solomon said.
Solomon thinks that the Fourth of July is a reminder to spend time with family, who he believes is one of the best support systems one can have.
"We all we got, sometimes God Jesus and us is all we have so, you know hey, as a community as a town as a state as a country, sometimes we’re all we got," Solomon said.
Solomon said he plans to continue serving hot dogs from his home next year.
