Arrests down during trouble free spring break at Crystal Beach

"It' hasn't been as bad as I've seen it in the past. We are expecting a pretty big weekend."

Galveston County Sheriffs Office says that arrests during this weeks spring break has decreased from the previous year.

So far, the County has had 33 arrests compared to last years 49 arrests. According to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, the majority of the arrests have been public intoxication and minor possession.

"It' hasn't been as bad as I've seen it in the past," said Mark Mcguffey, a deputy for the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. "We are expecting a pretty big weekend."

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office says they want to remind spring breakers not too drink and drive, minors not to consume alcohol, and that ATV's are not allowed on the roadways.
