Orange County sheriff's deputies have a man in custody they say is responsible for the armed robbery of a pharmacy in Mauriceville.

Thomas Lane Marshall, 42, is held at the Orange County jail on unrelated charges. Deputies say around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday Marshall walked into the Mauriceville Family Pharmacy located at 10897 Hwy 12 in Mauriceville and demanded prescription medication.

Pharmacy employees told investigators the robber displayed a knife and told them to give him medication. They gave him several bottles of prescription medication and he fled. A witness was able to get the license plate number which indicated Marshall was the robber.

Deputies late Tuesday evening, assisted by the Bridge City Police Department, found Marshall. They say he was driving a stolen car at the time he was pulled over. He was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant out of Jefferson County for forgery and for the stolen car.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson said aggravated robbery charges will be filed on Marshall for the pharmacy robbery.
