A firefighter with Orange County Emergency Services District #4 told 12News a house in the McLewis area was engulfed in flames when they arrived around 3 a.m. Thursday.

The fire happened in the 900 block of Craft Lane.

A neighbor said the house had been vacant since July when a woman who lived there moved out. He also said there has not been electricity in the house for the past six months. He said neighbors fear the fire was set on purpose because of a recent fire in the area and there has been recent acts of vandalism to the house.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
