A Beaumont family is moving into a brand new house thanks to Habitat for Humanity. It was built as part of the 7th Annual Apostles' Build. 12 churches came together to build the home in Beaumont.
A house dedicated for the Dees-Sanchez family was held Sunday.
Victoria Sanchez says it was a special blessing that couldn't have come at a better time. The mother of three says her family began struggling when her own mother was diagnosed with multi-vascular heart disease. Sanchez says there were days when she wasn't sure where her family would sleep but Habitat has taken that burden away.
"It gives me solitude knowing my children will have somewhere safe they can forever call theirs and I won't have to worry where we are going to be tomorrow," Sanchez said.
Sanchez says carpet will be put in the home early this week and her family should be moved in by Friday.
Sanchez will be making interest free payments on a 20 year mortgage as all Habitat homeowners do, earned by working 300 hours of volunteer "sweat equity" and attending financial literacy classes.
