It's the fourth and final day of the Algerian hostage crisis. Algerian state news reports as many as 23 hostages were killed in the final assault of the BP gas facility.

And as of Saturday afternoon, still no word on the Nederland native who was one of the hundreds held hostage by an al-Queda-linked militant group.

At the home of the hostage's brother, friends and family members could be seen coming and going throughout the day. The driveway and front yard were packed with cars Saturday morning.

Understandably, no one was able to talk on camera. A man who answered the door told 12 News HD that they hadn't heard any news, but the family was doing ok.

One can only imagine how those inside the house are dealing with the frightening situation. A situation 5,000 miles away... that hits too close to home.

Special prayers will be said at the hostage's former church, St. Charles Catholic Church on Nederland Avenue, Sunday at 7:30am, 9:30, 11:30, and 4:30pm.
