The Lumberton Independent School District's search for a new superintendent took a step backward when their finalist withdrew his name from consideration for the job.

Dr. Jeremy Glenn, superintendent of Waxahachie ISD, who was named by the district's board of trustees as the "lone finalist" lat week has withdrawn his name and plans to stay at his current job according to district spokesperson Gretchen Scoggins.

The board has a regularly scheduled meeting this week and will discuss their next steps during the meeting according to Scoggins.

Glenn was one of six applicants for the job that were selected for initial interviews and one of three who were invited back for a second interview according to the release.
