Three Beaumont businesses robbed at gunpoint in same hour Tuesday evening

An employee at Family Dollar on Gulf Street was hit in the head with a handgun multiple times during one of the robberies.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Detectives in Beaumont are working to find out if three armed robberies are connected after some local businesses were robbed at gunpoint within the same hour. All three armed robberies happened between 7 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday. 

A call came in first about a robbery at O'Reilly Auto Parts on Washington Blvd.  according to a Beaumont Police Department news release. It happened at 7:08 when a man showed a gun and robbed an employee. At 7:17, an employee was hit in the head several times with a handgun and robbed at the Family Dollar on Gulf Street according to the release. The last robbery happened at the Dominos Pizza on College Street. Officers were told a man also showed a gun and robbed an employee at the pizza restaurant. 

Police were told during each of the robberies, "a black male suspect displayed a handgun and robbed the employee of the business," according to the release. "The suspect was described as a thin, light-skinned black male."

Right now police are trying to get video surveillance from the stores to try to identify the suspect or suspects involved in the robberies and find out if the crimes are connected.

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 between 7:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. BPD Officers responded to three businesses in reference to Aggravated Robbery.

7:08 p.m.- O’Reilly Auto Parts- 1040 Washington

7:17 p.m.- Family Dollar- 2290 Gulf

7:45 p.m.- Dominoes Pizza- 1395 College

During each of the Aggravated Robberies, a black male suspect displayed a handgun and robbed the employee of the business. During the robbery of Family Dollar, the suspect struck the clerk in the head multiple times with the handgun. No other victims were injured. The suspect was described as a thin, light-skinned black male. BPD Detectives are working to obtain video surveillance from each of the robberies in an attempt to identify the suspect(s) and to determine if the crimes are connected.
