A security camera caught a burglar dropping through the ceiling of a Port Arthur pharmacy early Friday morning.

The man broke through the roof of King's Pharmacy in the 1900 block of Ninth Avenue and evidence at the scene indicated the burglar was after narcotics according to the city's public information officer.

In the video the suspect appeared to be wearing a mask when he climbed through the hole but it fell off as he hung from the ceiling. He can be seen putting the mask back on in the video.

The alarm sounded at about 5:55 a.m. but the burglary was not discovered until 6:45 a.m. according to the PIO.

When Port Arthur Police officers responded to the scene they had to get assistance from the Port Arthur Fire Department to reach the two-foot diameter hole on the roof where the burglar gained entry into the building.

Officials have not yet said if they were able to get at the drugs.
