A Southeast Texas man has been arrested in connection a string of residential burglaries throughout Jefferson County.
Nederland Police arrested Octavius Jackson, 28, and charged him with burglary of a habitation Thursday according to a release from the Nederland Police Department.
Jackson is also a suspect in burglaries throughout Jefferson County according to the release.
Officers responded to a call about a suspicious person just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning in the 3300 block of Tipps Drive according to the release.
An officer spotted Jackson walking between two homes and approached him but he fled the release said.
After a brief foot chase officers apprehended Jackson about four blocks away in the 3100 block of Nashville Avenue the release said.
Jackson was wanted on a Jefferson County warrant charging him with burglary of a habitation and is a suspect in multiple residential burglaries throughout the county the release said.
Jackson was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on the burglary warrant where his bond is currently set at $75,000 and he is on mental health hold according to the Jefferson County Jail roster.
Nederland Police expect to file evading arrest charges as well as several other burglary charges against him according to the release.
