Police have a man in custody they say used a hammer as a weapon as he robbed a store clerk.
The robbery happened around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at a gas station at the corner of Interstate 10 and College Street. The man with a hammer ordered the clerk to hand over money from the register.
Officers were nearby when the call came in and they quickly found the suspect.
The name of the man in custody will not be released until he is arraigned.
