Beaumont Police officers and Beaumont firefighters were also on the scene to assist.

The FBI began conducting the operation just off of College Street near Dixie Drive Thursday morning.

A spokesperson for the FBI would only say that the bureau is conducting a "lawful operation" in the area of Dixie Drive and Belmont Street just off of College Street.

A U.S. Government "Bearcat" armored vehicle is also in the area.

College Street is not closed to traffic.

The FBI has specifically requested that residents avoid the intersections of College Street and Dixie Drive, Belmont Street and Dixie Drive and Belmont Street and Sunnyside Drive as they are currently blocked due to the operation.
