A Beaumont man, who was allegedly soliciting a minor online, was arrested Monday morning.

Kirt Vavasseur, 32, was arrested by investigators from the Jones Creek Marshal's Office with assistance from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office according to a release from the sheriff's office.

This morning members the of Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division, Warrant Division and Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, assisted Investigators of Jones Creek Marshals Office in executing a search and arrest warrant at 8287 Fairway Drive, (Fannett), Beaumont, Texas.

The arrest warrant was served on 32 year old Kirt Vavasseur of Beaumont.

Vavasseur was arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor.

He was transported without incident to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility where he is pending bond for the felony charge.

Parents are urged to monitor their children’s online activities. Many social apps are being used by predators to lure children and teens.

Adults presenting themselves as children or teens are contacting them and grooming them to meet up.

They are fluent in the language and acronyms that young people use and will use photo’s of children or young adults as their profile photo.
