A balloon release was held at Silsbee High School to honor Tristan Dilley who passed away on Sunday.

Several of her classmates came to the school wearing her favorite color purple and holding purple balloons in their hands.

Today would have been Dilley’s 15 birthday, several of her classmates held hands and said a quick prayer for Dilley before the balloon release.

“Tristan was an amazing person, an amazing friend if anyone was talking about you she’d tell them to stop,” said her friend Larkin Bryant

Once the balloons were released into the air several friends hugged each other.

“She was a good friend to have, she was always there for me always did your hair and was a great person all around,” said her friend KeeLeigh Abshire.

Funeral services have been set for a Silsbee teen who was found fatally shot at her mother's Buna home Sunday night.

“Hard it’s been upsetting but I remember to stay happy because she would want us to be happy,” said her friend Addison Steltz.

Tristan Dilley, 14, was found by family members fatally shot in her bed early Sunday evening.

Visitation begins at Noon.Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday, October 7, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home on 34490 U.S. Highway 96 South in Buna.

Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Vidor.

Classmates at her former school, Buna High School, held a prayer vigil for her first thing Tuesday morning.

One of Dilley’s best friends, Madi Martin told 12News that Dilley was very bubbly, outgoing and athletic.

She was involved in volleyball and track when she went to Buna High School where there will be a prayer vigil for her Tuesday morning.

"I love her and I thank her for being there for me and being a great friend and I will miss her so much,” Martin said.

Dilley joined the JV cheerleading squad when she transferred to Silsbee High School a year ago where today her empty desk became a memorial.
