12News has confirmed that the top law enforcement officer for the City of Rose Hill Acres was arrested by Beaumont police in a prostitution sting.

Erik Tolpo was booked into the Jefferson County Jail shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The 46-year-old's bond was set at $250. He bonded out around midnight.

Tolpo is the city marshal for the City of Rose Hill Acres, which is in south Hardin County between Lumberton and Beaumont.

The city has a population of just under 450 people.

We contacted the city's mayor, Rick Tomisee, but he had no comment.

Sources tell 12News that Tolpo was one of several people arrested in a prostitution sting that took place at a Beaumont hotel on Thursday.

We're told those arrested had responded to ads in Backpage.com, which is a web-based classified ad service that lists adult services.
