The Beaumont Independent School District has made personnel changes including termination of the district's purchasing director Naomi Lawrence-Lee and acceptance of the retirement announcement of Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development Patricia Lambert.
Superintendent Timothy Chargois fired Lee Tuesday following a closed session meeting with the school board. Shortly thereafter Lambert announced her retirement. Her retirement will begin in mid June.
12News first reported last week that Lawrence-Lee's home was raided by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The U.S. Attorney's Office has not announced the nature of the information it sought when it conducted the April 4 raid.
12News learned in January that Lawrence-Lee had been suspended with pay amid accusations she did not go through the correct channels for documenting extra time worked for pay.
Lambert has been under fire amid questions about funds spent at her son's business, her role in disbanding Central High School's booster club and accusations she masterminded a pattern of cheating in the district.
