ORANGE - The Orange man accused of stabbing his uncle to death is now in the Orange County Jail on a $600,000 bond.

Chris Philmon's family told 12News Monday he suffered from schizophrenia.

The suspect's mother, Lynette Philmon, said that the stabbing could have been the result of one of her son's schizophrenic episodes. She was on scene with other family members Monday morning. She is also the victim's sister.

Police say the stabbing stemmed from an argument between Chris and Roy.

Lynette says her son suffers from schizophrenia which causes him to hallucinate and at times cut his own wrists.

On his facebook page. Chris last week posted that "One day I will eat human and finally find out if it really tastes like pork."

"They had a really good relationship so I don't know why he would hurt him, said Lynette. "But when he is in that state he hears voices and voices tell him stuff."

Lynette says she saw that Facebook post and didn't want to believe her son would say such a thing. She said her son was waiting on Social Security disability to help him afford proper medication.
