A shooting victim has died of his injuries in what Beaumont police say was a drug related crime.
Nicholas Rosen, 22, of Bridge City, died Thursday at Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth after being shot on April 4.
A statement by police says Nicholas was a passenger in a vehicle that had pulled into a residence in the 10000 block of Gage Street to buy drugs. Shortly after the completion of the drug deal, someone at the residence fired at least one shot into the vehicle striking Nicholas in his head.
Detectives have been working to identify the suspect who fired the shot. They have developed several promising leads in the investigation and are awaiting the results of forensic testing of evidence that may assist them in providing answers for Nicholas' family.
A police spokesperson says officers are asking anyone who has any information about this murder to call Beaumont Crime Stoppers at 409-833-8477 (TIPS.)
