Pizza joint owner surprised, honored to be invited to Barbara Bush's funeral

"With all the important people there, I don't know where they're going to hide these pizza people because I don't know, it'll be amazing."

HOUSTON — At least four living presidents and three first ladies are among those who will attend Barbara Bush's private funeral Saturday. But the guest list also includes regular people, including the owner of a Houston pizza parlor.

Fuzzy Hajjar, who owns Fuzzy's Pizza, and his wife Rita have known the Bush family for 25 years.

They were surprised -- and honored -- when they learned they'd been invited to the funeral.

"When I opened my email, I think it was two days ago, I was totally shocked and I ran to Fuzzy and told him, saying, 'We've been included in the funeral,'" Rita told us.

And that's not all.

"She left us a gift and she was a great lady, and I'm really sad what happened because we love her,” Fuzzy said.

The Hajjars love George and Barbara Bush so much, they have an entire room at the restaurant dedicated to them. And pizzas named after them.

"With all the important people there, I don't know where they're going to hide these pizza people because I don't know, it'll be amazing,” Rita said.

Amazing, yet sad.

"Of course, I'm nervous over all the emotions involved and it’s going to be hard to say goodbye, and I don't know if it’s going to be more of a celebration or real sad, but it’s going to be very hard to say goodbye to Mrs. Bush," Rita said.

The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Church. The family will then drive through Memorial Park on their way to Texas A&M where Mrs. Bush will be buried.
