Kaci Alvarez an Evening Producer and produces 12News at 5 and 12News Tonight on K-JAC (6:30 p.m.)

Alvarez began her journalism career at 12News in June 2017.

She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, with a love for barbacoa tacos and Big Red.

Alvarez graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in May 2017 with a bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in media studies and a minor in digital journalism.

Fresh out of college, she says she had no idea what she was doing when she started, but soon enough, producing became her passion.

While in college, Alvarez was the editor-in-chief for the Island Waves student newspaper and was awarded the School of Arts, Media, and Commincation's "Journalism Student of the Year for 2017." She also completed a sports internship at KZTV Action 10 News in Corpus Christi, where she learned the basics of broadcast journalism, ranging from script writing to video editing.

Alvarez loves binge watching Netflix, cuddling with her pup, and meeting new people. She loves being a part of the 12News team, and is excited to be a part of the Southeast Texas community.
