Funeral services set for female victim in car crash

Friday night 19-year-old Michael Harvey of Silsbee and 20-year-old Shelby Williams of Kountze died in a two-car accident just north of Silsbee.

12 News HD spoke with members of the Williams family they described Shelby as a caring person that was always there for someone in need.

Funeral arrangements have been set for Shelby. Visitation will be at 5 PM on Sunday at Farmer Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Monday at 2 PM at the funeral home.

Services for Michael Harvey are still pending.


On Friday the Texas Department of Public Safety says the two victims were in a pickup truck driven by Harvey on Highway 92 north of Silsbee when it struck a car head on at about 4:15 p.m.. The driver of the car, Trent Cameron, was taken to Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont with a broken leg.

Witnesses tell troopers the pickup truck crossed over the median and struck the car head on, causing both vehicles to burst into flames. Traffic was closed in both directions on Highway 92 at Mormon Church Road.

DPS continues to investigate and said it is still undetermined as to whether alcohol or drugs played a factor or whether either of the victims were wearing a seat belt.
