
Department of Public Safety investigators say a 41-year-old woman is behind bars after she tried selling powdered cocaine to undercover agents in the parking lot of Parkdale Mall in Beaumont.
Martiniana Enrico, of Beaumont, will be arraigned Friday morning in Jefferson County. Enrico is facing a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance. She also had an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance, according to investigators.
For the last three weeks, several federal, state and local agents have been investigating Enrico, authorities said.
Around 4 p.m. Thursday, Enrico tried selling 12 ounces of cocaine (estimated street value: $15,000) to undercover agents, according to investigators.
Following her arrest, she took officers to her home at the intersection of Avenue D and Bolivar Street in Beaumont. Agents seized an additional three ounces of cocaine.
The Department of Public Safety, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as well as the Port Arthur Police Department.
During the sting, police also arrested a 20-year-old Beaumont woman who had outstanding traffic warrants.
