Beaumont police are investigating a bunch of vandalism in the Parkdale Mall area. Officers say someone with a pellet gun apparently is the culprit.
As of 6 a.m. officers were called to at least 5 reports of businesses with windows shot by a BB or pellet gun. Once other businesses open for the day it's possible police will get more reports of vandalism.
A dispatcher says it's too early to know how many businesses were vandalized or put a dollar amount on the damage. She did say Texas Bed Company and Michael's are among the vandals targets.
Commercial windows can cost hundreds of dollars a piece to replace. An officer taking reports this morning tells 12NewsNow.Com this is the second time in a month Beaumont had a rash of windows shot out and it could be the handiwork of the same person. The total dollar amount in damage could end up making the crime a felony.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call the Beaumont Police Department.
