An Orange County jury is continuing deliberations this morning after spending 5 hours behind doors Thursday trying to reach a verdict in the murder and dismemberment trial of James Holden, 43 of Deweyville. Holden is charged with capital murder in the 1995 stabbing death and dismemberment of Theresa Foskey, 28, of Bridge City
In closing arguments Thursday, prosecutors argued DNA evidence like seminal fluid on the victim's carpet points to Holden as the killer. The defense says the evidence proves only that Holden was at Foskey's home, which the defendant has admitted.
If found guilty, Holden faces an automatic life sentence without the chance for parole.
